HISTORY

2003
Our shipyard was founded in 1980 took the name Istanbul Shipyard upon completion of a big infrastructure investment thrust as a result of the acquisition by SNR Holding in August 2003.

2004
Although the activities were limited with docking and building new small vessels, the first stage of the modernization and infrastructure works were completed towards becoming a boutique shipyard.

2005
Floating dock with a lifting capacity of 4.200 tons and length of 96 m was put into service. Today, with its dock and landing, this floating dock has a capacity to provide overhauling, maintenance and docking services for any type of vessels up to 150 m. In addition, “NB10, 5850 DWT, IMO II Chemical Tanker" was delivered in 2005.

2006
Steel production capacity of our shipyard was increased to 11.800 tons per year after opening its own steel factory with an enclosed area of 3.600 m2 and total area of 8.000 m2. In addition, “NB11 and NB12, 10500 DWT, IMO II Chemical Tankers" were delivered in 2006.

2007
Our shipyard took a strategic decision and focused on military project in 2007 that was a prosperous period for the new commercial vessel building sector. Our Shipyard was awarded with the Project on Modernization of SAR-35 Boats that are in the inventory of the Coast Guard Commandership upon completion of the infrastructure investments and certification procedures such as Plant Safety Control Certificates at National and NATO level. In addition, “NB13 10500 DWT, NB15 5850 DWT, IMO II Chemical Tankers” were delivered in 2007.

2008
It is a period our shipyard focused on different types of special projects in addition to the on-going projects. Our Shipyard that entered into off-shore vessels market delivered ROV Research Vessels to their Norwegian owner within the same year. In addition, "NB14 and NB16 5700 DWT Stainless Steel IMO II Chemical Tankers and NB18 6400 DWT IMO II Chemical Tanker" were delivered.

2009
Modernized SAR35 Boats were delivered upon achieving a performance profile beyond the targets specified in the contract. In addition to "NB19 and NB21 6400 DWT, IMO II Chemical Tankers", ROV Research Vessels were delivered to their Norwegian owner.

2010
On January, a contract was signed for SNR17 Romania Border Police River Station Boats that have a unique design developed by us. 5 boats and "NB22 6400 DWT, IMO II Chemical Tanker" were delivered in 2010, our Shipyard acted in the capacity of "Contractor" in the Project for one Submarine Rescue Mother Ship and two Rescue and Towing Vessels upon completion of the tendering process by SSM on June.

2011
Our Shipyard won the tender for building a Seismic Research Vessel for the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) on June 2011. On 28 October 2011, an agreement was signed between SSM and Istanbul Shipyard for building one Submarine Rescue Mother Vessel (MOSHIP) and two Rescue and Towing Vessels (KURYED). R&D studies were commenced in collaboration with MILPER Company within the scope of the MOSHIP and KURYED agreements Technology Acquisition Liability Projects.

2012
Our Shipyard signed an agreement for building MTA Seismic Research Vessel on April 2012. The shipyard relocated the administrative personnel to a new building in order to improve the work conditions and due to the increased number of projects and personnel. Tendering activities were initiated for the modernization project for SAR-33 boats that are in the inventory of Coastal Safety Commandership.

2013
In January 2013, SSM and our Shipyard signed a modernization agreement for SAR-33 Boats.

2014
As the building and modernization works continued within the scope of the project implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Industry, our Shipyard added a second floating dock in order to increase its floating dock capacity as a part of the infrastructure development works. MOSHIP (Alemdar) , KURYED-1 (Isin) and KURYED-2 (Akın) were launched on April, June and September, respectively. Temporary acceptance of TCSG-66 boat was made within the scope of the modernization of SAR-33 boats.

2015
MTA Seismic Research Vessel (MTA ORUÇ REİS) was launched in March 2015. Provisional acceptance of Turkish Coast Guard Command boats hull number TCSG-61, TCSG-64, TCSG-65 and TCSG-70 have been made within the scope of the modernization of SAR-33 boats project. 
Turkish Coast Guard Command boat hull number TCSG-66 has been taken to the shipyard within the scope of final acceptance operations after completion of the one year warranty period.

2016
Turkish Coast Guard Command boats TCSG-61, TCSG-64, TCSG-65 and TCSG-70 have been taken to the shipyard within the scope of final acceptance operations after completion of the one year warranty period. 
After the successfully completion of their final inspections; TCSG-61, TCSG-64, TCSG-65, TCSG-66 and TCSG-70, have been delivered to Turkish Coast Guard Command after their final acceptance. 
Installation Tests, Setting To Work, System Interface Tests and Harbor Acceptance Tests of MOSHIP (ALEMDAR), RATSHIP-1 (IŞIN) and MTA Seismic Research Vessel (MTA ORUÇ REİS) have been successfully completed. 
Installation Tests, Setting To Work and System Interface Tests of RATSHIP-2 (AKIN) have been completed. Harbor Acceptance Tests have been continued. 
Sea Acceptance Tests of RATSHIP-1 (IŞIN) have been continued. 
Sea Acceptance Tests of MOSHIP (ALEMDAR) have been continued.

2017
TCG ALEMDAR (A-582) (MOSHIP) has been delivered to Turkish Navy in January, within the scope of her provisional acceptance. 
Seismic Research Vessel (MTA ORUÇ REİS) has been delivered to General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration in June, within the scope of her provisional acceptance. 
TCG IŞIN (A-583) (RATSHIP) has been delivered to Turkish Navy in July, within the scope of her provisional acceptance. 
TCG AKIN (A-584) (RATSHIP) has been delivered to Turkish Navy in December, within the scope of her provisional acceptance. 
The agreement contract of Test and Training Ship Project which is the tender process completed by SSM (Undersecretariat for Defense Industries), has been signed between our shipyard and STM (STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc.).

2018

The Test and Training Ship construction process was in progress.

 2019

Within the scope of the Seismic Research Ship Contract, the final delivery of MTA ORUÇ REIS and Launching Ceremony of the Test and Training Ship were held in February.

Regarding the Rescue and Towing Ship Contract, the final acceptance of TCG IŞIN and TCG AKIN were completed in November.

2020

Started for the construction in our shipyard and contracted with the Polish company, the launching ceremony of 7500 DWT Chemical Fuel Tanker was held in March.

2021

The delivery of the Chemical Fuel tanker M/V ALVANITH, contracted with a Polish company, was completed in March.

2022

TCG UFUK (A-591) was delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces Command in January, under the responsibility of the main contractor, STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc.

2023

The construction of Corvette type ship was started in March with the main contractor STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc.
